304L	S30403	1.4307	Low-carbon version of 304. The reduced carbon content minimizes harmful carbide precipitation during welding, preserving corrosion resistance in as-welded condition.	Applications requiring extensive welding: Chemical containers, welded structures, and components where post-weld heat treatment is not feasible.
316	S31600	1.4401	Molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade. The addition of 2-3% Mo provides superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments.	Marine and chemical processing: Boat fittings, coastal architectural components, chemical processing equipment, and pharmaceutical apparatus.
316L	316L/S31603	1.4404	Low-carbon version of 316. Combines the enhanced chloride resistance of 316 with excellent resistance to weld decay, ideal for welded assemblies in corrosive settings.	Welded assemblies in corrosive environments: Pressure vessels, piping, and structural parts for marine, chemical, and high-purity industries.
301	S30100	1.431	High work-hardening rate. Can achieve remarkably high strength and hardness through cold working processes like rolling or drawing.	High-strength structural components: Railway car bodies, automotive trim and frames, springs, and conveyor belts.
321	S32100	1.4541	Titanium-stabilized austenitic grade. The addition of titanium prevents chromium carbide formation during exposure to the 450-850°C range, preserving corrosion resistance after welding or high-temperature service.	High-temperature welded assemblies: Aircraft exhaust systems, heat exchangers, expansion bellows, and furnace parts.
